In a big bowl, sift together the flour, baking sugar, salt, and powder. Make a very well in the middle and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; blend until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or perhaps frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or perhaps harvest the batter onto the griddle, using more or less 1/4 cup for every pancake. Brown on each side as well as serve hot.
